Bold and unvarnished documentary portrait by Baltimore resident Amos Badertscher of Miss Lena (aka Leonard), one of the many street and club denizens encountered and photographed by the observer/participant photographer, circa 1979. The hand-written text by Badertscher says of the sitter: Leonard was on the scene big time throughout the seventies--in the clubs & on the streets. Particularly Charles & Eager Streets, close by the Hippo. He retired Miss Lena in the 80's & as of 1994 works in a diner--as a man or a woman? Size/Condition: 8"x 10".
