Dramatic 1950s Russ Warner studio photo featuring oft used model and artist Neel Bate (1916-1989) who also posed for George Platt Lynes. The image features the muscular Bate astride a model stand, wielding a dagger with a noir-esque shadow against the wall. Bate was also known as Blade (his artist name), Carlyle Kneeland Bate and Carl Neeland. Size/Condition: Measures 4”x 5”. Silver gelatin, double weight fiber paper with near matte surface. Excellent condition with minor oxidation. Numeric mark “3” to reverse, otherwise unmarked, undated.
