Rare and wonderful Carl Van Vechten (1880-1964) vintage photograph, dated 1940. This studio image features a nude Hugh Laing (1911-1988), a ballet dancer who performed with Marie Rambert’s Ballet Club and the New York City Ballet.

Size/Condition: 7&5/8”x 9&7/8", silver gelatin, double weight, fiber based, matte print. Small, light bend line, very low right corner, light age toning, print processing flaws. Photographer’s studio stamp to reverse with handwritten (ink) model name and date (March 27, 1940), along with a series and/or negative number.
